How can i get my friend not to come?

There's a movie night at my yacht club tonight, and its the last big club event i'll be able to go with this summer. I invited my friend outside of the club to go, but now i wish I hadn't. I want to hang out with my sailing friends (who will be there) but I already invited her. Please help!! It's not that I don't like her, but I just want to hang out with my sailing friends one more time this summer before they all go home. (I live in a beach town)

You seem kind of stuck, but maybe if she's really a good friend, she'll understand.
Tell her that you're afraid you won't be paying enough attention to her if she goes with you because you realize it'll be the last time you get to see all your sailing friends and you don't want to ignore her, but you have a feeling that she might feel that way.
If she still wants to come with you -- knowing that you're going to be hanging out with your sailing friends, then that's her choice.
You need to be as honest as possible in a nice way so as to not hurt her feelings. And, hope that she's a good enough friend that she'll understand.

The Sailing Yacht

A sailing yacht once denoted a large, comfortable recreational boat used by the ultra-rich which had over-all lengths of over 100 ft. With the largest of these, the difference between it a yacht and a ship became difficult to define. Although a lot of privately owned crafts such as these fall now in the range of about 20 to 45 ft and the cost of building a yacht rises exponentially as the length increased, a few mega-rich do maintain a few of  the larger ones but hardly ever sailed on them. However, since the larger yachts are difficult to operate alone and expensive to maintain, more and more are turning to motorized yachts for recreational boating.

The smaller sailing yachts between 20 and 50 ft are now generally called sailboats and the sport of sailing on it is commonly referred to as yachting, which brings to mind a competitive racing sail boat manned by sailors who race against each other and battle for honors in the presence of the most dangerous elements known to men. Whether alone on a one-man sailing yacht or in the company of a team on a larger one, many sailors have died amidst the gale-force winds and gigantic waves of the ocean. Yet sportsmen still find this sport attractive. Even with the prohibitive price of the sailing yacht, sportsmen still find means of acquiring a yacht to compete in regattas all over the world. Sailing or yachting competitions are now so competitive and prestigious that yacht clubs continuously compete with each other for the prestige of being the top racing team that will represent their country in world matches such as the America’s Cup.

It retained that title until 2 September 1902 when His Majesty King Edward VII was graciously pleased to command that the Club be henceforth known as 'The Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club.'
